Ian Jones has been a pioneering physician assistant in the Canadian realm. He trained in the U.S. and was one of the first 4 PAs in the country spending time working in the both the ER and neurosurgery. From there, he moved in to a leadership role becoming involved with both PA education and CAPA. He spent 3 years as the CAPA president and 2 years in the role of past president and is currently the PA program director for the University of Manitoba and the president of the Canadian Physician Assistant Educators Association (CPAEA) and leading the initiation of the Canadian Journal of Physician Assistants.
